About Average Genius
Average Genius is a blog for people who are tired of being explained to.
There are no breakthroughs here.
No secrets.
No “unlocking potential.”
Just thinking, written down, after the hype has been removed.
This site exists because the internet is crowded with self-described visionaries who confuse vocabulary with understanding and confidence with insight. Most of them are wrong. Some of them are loud. Almost all of them are selling something.
We write about technology, leadership, power, and systems, not because they’re trendy, but because they’re usually misunderstood. Especially by people who talk about them the most.
The name Average Genius is not ironic.
It’s descriptive. I am actually not sure what descriptive really means, but I'm using it here. Bit me. Better yet, sing.
Progress is made by people who:
- Don’t call themselves thought leaders
- Read primary sources
- Change their minds when reality disagrees (Also, I hear if you change your mind twice, it means you're weak; I don't know if that's actually true).
If you’re looking for:
- Inspiration → try a mirror
- Validation → LinkedIn is free
- Certainty → that’s a red flag
If you want careful thinking, unpopular conclusions, and writing that assumes you can keep up, you might find this useful.
If not, that’s fine too.
No community.
No newsletter guilt. But there will be a shit ton of newsletters
No calls to action.
Just words.
Some of them correct.
